Sometimes you just need to blaze your own trail. When you’re working in a location with little-to-no access, count on Island Efficient Excavating to clear a path so you can get equipment and materials moving.
Island Efficient Excavating loves working on Vancouver Island. Often we get to see areas that are close to Nanaimo but are still unspoiled, remote, and relatively untouched.
Sometimes we work in places that are so untouched that there isn’t even proper access to the site!
With our compact machinery and experienced operators, Island Efficient Excavating is perfectly-suited to these kinds of road building and site access excavation projects.
Carve Out Your Own Path
We’ll help by clearing away brush, stumps, trees, stones, and anything else in the way to provide general access to the site of your project.
Depending on your job, we can also haul all materials away or bring the debris to a specified location (such as a central burn pile).
Once a path has been cleared, we can help compact the road to prepare for traffic. We’ll help ready a base layer that can be finished with concrete, paving stones, or an appropriate gravel mixture.
We’re Watching The Weather
We’ll be sure to keep the elements in mind, too. If you’re from Vancouver Island like we are, you know how sudden a huge downpour can occur!
Just like when we’re excavating foundations or digging trenches, we always plan ahead to prevent materials from sloughing off or otherwise becoming unstable during an unexpected shower.

So whether you’re building a custom home at the base of Mount Benson or need better access to your dock on Gabriola Island, we can help blaze a trail to wherever you need to be.

Please note: Island Efficient Excavating is a family-owned excavation contractor based in Nanaimo BC, not a large corporation with a huge fleet of equipment. That makes us a perfect choice for small and mid-sized projects, but we’re not a good fit for very large projects, such as building roads for a new subdivision.
