Sheds & Other Wooden Structures
In addition to designing completely custom sheds, we can also help install ready-made sheds. From preparing the base to hanging the door, we’ll make sure the shed bought from your local home improvement store is installed correctly.
Buildings, including sheds, that are 10 square meters (107 square feet) or less do not require a building permit in the Regional District of Nanaimo (RDN). That means building a custom wood garden structure can be a pretty straightforward project that you will enjoy for years to come.

Custom & Pre-Built Fencing
While we love designing and building custom cedar fencing, we also work with pre-built fence panels.
Prefabricated fencing panels are available from many building supply stores in Nanaimo. Pre-fab fence panels are a more economical option compared to a custom-built cedar fence, and when installed correctly can still last for many years.
A building permit is not required by the RDN when building fences that are less than 2 meters in height.
Deck Construction & Remodelling
Building a new deck (or remodelling an existing deck) can completely transform the way you use your outdoor space.
We’ll work with you to determine the best custom deck design that makes the most out of your goals, your hobbies, and the existing space/structures we have to work with.
The Regional District of Nanaimo requires that you have a permit when either remodelling or building a deck. Count on us to lend you a hand if you have any questions about the application process.
