From foundations to sidewalks, proper base prep is critical to the success of any long-lasting concrete pour. We have the materials, equipment, and experience you need to ensure the base for your project stands up to the pressures of weight and time.
Ever heard the saying “fail to prepare, prepare to fail”? This is especially true when preparing a base for a concrete slab, patio, or foundation.
In our experience, poor base preparation is one of the most common points of failure on construction sites.
Whether you are building an addition onto your home, constructing a new home, or creating exterior living areas, you need a good, solid base to start your project off.
Prepped & Graded for Success
We’ll work with your plans and your property to make sure the prepared area is firm, and follows the appropriate grade (whether level or sloped, such as to allow for water run-off on a driveway or patio).
A good base is achieved by:
- Digging down to solid, non-organic materials
- Filling back up to grade with good, clean, engineered fill
- Compacting regularly in 4-inch layers
- Repeating steps 2 and 3 until the desired height is achieved
By properly prepping your base as outlined above, you help ensure that the ground can support the weight of your construction project while staying level and solid as time (and the elements) takes its toll.
